EKATERINBURG FUNDRAISER SURPASSES GOAL THANKS TO SMASHING SUCCESS OF THE VIRGINIA GOLF TOURNAMENT!
    
    June 15, 2005. Breathtaking Stoneleigh Golf Club in Round Hill, Virginia was the setting of the first “spin off” Friends of Frank Golf Tournament since its original launching in 1998. Led by adoptive parent and tournament director, Jon Simasek, twenty-six enthusiastic and compassionate golfers enjoyed a fabulous day and chipped away at the goal of raising $8,000 to support the orphanage where Jon had adopted his daughter Sasha a little over 6 years ago.
    
    While the tournament was originally dubbed, “Golf for Wheels” for its intended purpose to fund the purchase of a food truck for the orphanage, the funds raised at this event went to fulfill the greater needs of the orphanage to meet its goal of ensuring the quality of food and well being of the children. Just a few days prior to the tournament, Orphanage Director Dr. Irina and Chief Pediatrician Dr. Maria joyously reported that they had just received a food truck from the city health center. When they learned of the incredible generosity and efforts of their beloved families in the United States, they were moved to tears. They presented the remaining pressing needs they had to allow them to provide better care and services to their children.
    
    While the final figures of the drive have yet to be accounted, preliminary figures show that we have surpassed our goal of $8,000 which enables us to meet 100% of the requests presented to us by Ekaterinburg #2. Funds have been used to purchase 2 refrigerators, 1 industrial oven, 2 electric food processors, 1 electric vegetable processor/peeler, 1 water filter system and 1 electric boiler system. The remaining funds will enable to orphanage to complete its renovations efforts which began nearly 2 years ago, but had been stalled by lack of funding.
