Many of the children who suffered from the terrorist attack in Beslan on September 1st were previously victims but in another way. They had already been orphaned prior to the attack. Many of them were under the care of relatives, in most instances grandmothers.
Last Thursday Dr. Nina Kostina, President of Frank Foundation Child Assistance International arrived in North Ossetia, bringing with her humanitarian aid amounting to more than 700,000 rubles.
The Misikov family, where eight-year-old Atsamaz lives with his grandmother, were recipients of a television and VCR. Aza Khadzhimurzayeva, who takes care of her granddaughter while slowly recovering from the psychological trauma of the September 1st attack, received an entertainment center and a kettle. The rest of the gifts are being delivered by Frank Foundation employees in the hope of helping families return to normalcy and bringing smiles to faces who have lost so much.
