Frank Foundation Presents Scholarships in Ust-Kamenogorsk
On February 3, 2006, FFCAI President Nina Kostina was honored to participate in a ceremony with the Akim of Ust-Kamenogorsk, Mr. Victor Hrapunov, where she presented ten very deserving students with higher education scholarships that will help them complete their education and professional training. The stipends presented are part of an ongoing effort by Frank Foundation to help orphans achieve their dreams of a higher education degree. These students have had very difficult circumstances in life, and have worked very hard to earn their places at Universities.
From the town of Serebryansk, scholarships were given to Saule Moldaspanova, a pre-med student, Bakyt Tursbekov, a talented student athlete, and Nadezhda Mladentzeva, a sociology major who was highly praised by her professors.
From the Kokpektinskiy Children’s Orphanage, awards were given to Ualihan Aknazarov, a high school honors graduate who is now a student at the Metallurgical Institute of Eastern Kazakhstan State University, and Oksana Zhukova, an educational psychology major who is also a strong student leader. From the village of Nauala, scholarships were given to Irina Turovnik, who is attending the Pediatric Department of Semipalatinsk Medical Academy, and Nadejda Atisheva, who is enrolled in the Physics-Mathematics department at Semipalatinsk State Pedagogical Institute. From the “Children’s Village” of East Kazakhstan, awards were given to Ainur Rakhimanova, who plans a career in Social Services, and Tatyana Chernikova, an elementary education major. Finally, from the Children’s Home in Semipalatinsk, a scholarship was given to Evgenia Kwasova, a fourth-year medical student at Semipalatinsk Medical Academy.
During the ceremony, Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev was quoted: “Kazakhstan will never again be a country of crisis, but it will be a country where dreams come true.” Frank Foundation is proud to be a part of this transformation, and to support citizens of Kazakhstan who are working to make their own dreams for the country come true.
Frank Foundation extends its most heartfelt thanks to all the families and friends who have so generously contributed funds this past Christmas to help establish this scholarship funds for Kazakh disadvantaged youth. Without your continual support, we would not have the privilege to help these very deserving young people pursue a brighter future.
