Frank Foundation continues to conduct the “Family Preservation Program,” the main priority of which is promoting child rearing in a family environment. Included in this program are families who are raising adopted orphans.

On March 4 at the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Tatarstan, fifteen adoptive families received financial aid certificates for 10,000 rubles each. The following people took part in the honorary ceremony: the Head of Frank Foundation Representative Office, Boris Tsekinovsky; Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Tatarstan, Rais Shayhelislamov; Deputy Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Tatarstan, Ayrat Zinnurov; Deputy Chief of Higher and Professional Education Union of Ministers of the Republic, Georgy Gataullin; Chief of the Department of Pedagogical Support and Rehabilitation of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Tatarstan, Nadezhda Bychkova.

The adoptive families were represented by women. Of course it is no secret that women bear the main burden of raising adopted children. Four days before the celebration of International Women’s Day, fifteen wonderful women from different regions of Tatarstan, who are all raising between three and five adopted children in their families, gathered in the conference hall of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Tatarstan. Many of these families have biological children, but no one differentiates between their own and adopted children. Each such family has their own story. Of course it is a story of love. Usually a family decides to adopt one child, but when it becomes know that the child has a brother or a sister, the family adopts three or even four children. If not for these fifteen families, the government would have to open and operate an entire orphanage. Unfortunately, federal subsidy for adopted children is very small, thus the greater need to provide financial aid. During a meeting at the Ministry, open and informative talks were held about the needs of adoptive families. Frank Foundation believes that carrying out such humanitarian programs attracts public attention to a certain social issue and facilitates its resolution.
