Dear Friends,

Last June, twenty-six sports enthusiasts gathered at Stoneleigh Golf Club at Round Hill, Virginia to enjoy a beautiful day filled with sun, fun and overall good-will. Jon Simasek, adoptive parent and active member of “Friends of Frank”, organized a mini-tournament to raise funds to support renovations and improvements at Yekaterinburg orphanage #2 – the place his own daughter Sasha had once called home. The tournament proved to be a tremendous success. Along with direct contributions from incredible Frank Families, nearly $9,000 was raised for this effort. With these funds, we were able to purchase desperately needed equipment including 2 refrigerators, 1 industrial oven, 2 electric food processors, 1 electric vegetable processor/peeler, 1 water filter system and 1 electric boiler system. Additionally, funds were stretched to help complete renovation efforts which began nearly 2 years ago, but had been stalled by lack of money.

Inspired by last year’s success, we are very pleased to return to Stoneleigh Golf Club on Friday, May 19, 2006 for a second year to gather together for a good cause. This year’s event will support the “Vladikavkas Initiative” of the Family Preservation Program – a unique project which strives to prevent a child from becoming an orphan in the first place through the provision of small grants which aim to keep the family unit in tact.

A small grant of $200 could make a world of difference for a single mother who struggles to pay for child care. Such funds would allow her to get on her feet to support herself and her family. Other families need less, while others may require slightly more. Our goal is to raise $10,000 - funds for 50 additional families, thereby preventing at least 70 children from entering the orphanage system in the first place.

Please join us on May 19 for a wonderful day of comraderie and fun. If you are unable to come, please consider supporting this program with a financial contribution. We assure you that 100% of your donation will be applied to this cause. Please refer to the enclosed flyer for further information on this event.

Thank you so much for your continued support and compassion. Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me by phone: 202-452-8279 or email: jhogan@frankfoundationcai.org.

Sincerest regards,

Julie L. Hogan
