August 11, 2006 - Sponsors, donors and volunteers gathered at the beautiful WestWinds Golf Club in New Market, Maryland, for the 8th Annual “Fore the Children” Golf Classic.
After golf and lunch, participants perused a silent auction boasting Napa Valley wines, an Outer Banks beach rental, Redskins football tickets and other great prizes.
Organizers Diane Cadenhead and Mike Gundling were presented with a Lomonsov porcelain tea set and a basket of Baltika Russian beers as a thank-you for their hard work.
Four local children even came by to present Frank Foundation President Nina Kostina with proceeds from their lemonade stand.
The tournament, organized by the Friends of Frank volunteer group raise funds which will be matched 100% by Frank Foundation Child Assistance International and will go toward the Family Preservation Program.
The Family Preservation Program is unique project that strives to prevent a child from becoming an orphan in the first place through the provision of small grants aiming to keep the family unit in tact. The program has already been implemented in Kazakhstan.
